As we were driving to the pool tonight, I mentioned that some people would be floating in the pool and watching the “dive in” movie. We discussed not having floats since we don’t have a pool to which the Princess stated,
“That’s ok. I am my own float!”
I cracked up laughing to which she states,
“I’m serious, Mom! Whenever I jump into a pool I just float right up! It’s like I just can’t sink!”
Kathleen’s response to, “Oh, you’re talking again?” “No, we’re just messaging.”
We used to just talk. Now we have to wonder if messaging is talking or just messaging.

What is hooking up? It could mean five different things? Then there’s talking…or hooking up…or texting…”

How can you be low key hot? You’re either hot or your not. How can you be low key hot?

Something about fighting. I might end up in a fight if I say this.
When did the definition of commitment become, “Until someone better comes along?”

So very glad that I’m married to a man who loves me and puts up with me even though I’m not the greener grass on the other side. I should make a t-shirt that says,
“I’m not the greener grass and my husband is ok with that!”

Tonight all peoples over 10 years old were gone except hubby and I…and the Princess was in the shower.
Which means the Roni gets to talk your head off.
We were doing the dishes together and he decided to straighten the tupperware for me. He talked on and on and on and on….
I asked him about his speech homework, “Was it done?”
“Yes.”
“Are you ready to turn it into your teacher?”
“No.”
“So is your homework done or not?”
“It’s done.”
“So you’re going to give it to Mrs. B?”
“No.”
“Roni…is your homework done or not? Do you still need to do more homework before you turn it in?”
“I can’t turn it in, Mom, until I see her again.”
“Remind me to ask you the right question next time.”
His reply?
“Yeah, because I don’t always undertand your questions!”
A few minutes later…
“Mom, whenever you need me, just call me and I’ll be there.”
Immediately, Michael Jackson lyrics started playing in my head. 🙂
I asked, “You’ll always be there for me when I call?”
HIs reply?
“Yes. Just call me and I’ll be there…unless I am at school; cause I’ll be on the playground…or at recess…or in reading…”
I went into the other room in time to hear him say something about “arfritis”…by now he was talking to his father.
“Daddy, what’s arfritis?”
Dad, “It’s when your body hurts all over.”
Roni, “Yeah…I’ll be there if mommy gets arfritis….or if she has kidney stone again.”
Thanks, son, for being there for me.
As we sat and watched a movie tonight, Chicken Noodle Butt snuggled in close. I asked him if he was comfortable.
His reply?
“I like cuddling close to you. You’re squishy.”
After a while, he jumped down to cuddle with Grandma, then came back to cuddle with me.
“Grandma not comfortable enough for you?”
“No. She is just soft; not squishy.”
