When I was a in middle school, we used to live in Colorado. One of my favorite memories was a trip that we took to Mesa Verde. I remember climbing through the ruins and being fascinated by the way they lived. I wanted to make sure that this trip included taking my kids to visit those same ruins. Today, over 1100 people make their way through Mesa Verde each day! Because of the traffic, tourists are no longer allowed to climb and investigate the ruins as in the past, but it was still fun to walk along them and wonder how they once lived.
But first, we had to picnic!
Then hike down to Cliff Palace
Climb up some ladders in small spaces!
Can you imagine living here?
You'd have to be in great shape!
